Where to eat - Bars and Cafe
Bar Corona
Bar Corona was founded in Monte Isola by Annetta Turla, who started the business in 1974 and ran it continuously until 1988. Ornella Mazzucchelli took over until 1995, when Rosa Maria Mazzucchelli took up the baton, running the bar until 2008. The latest generational change took place when the licences were transferred to Rosa Maria’s daughters, Katuscia and Natascia, who took on two separate roles: Katuscia devoted herself to the pizzeria, while Natascia became the owner and manager of the historic Bar Corona, which is still a landmark for the local community. After several moves within the municipality of Monte Isola, since 1999 the bar has been located at Via Siviano 13, where it has managed to preserve an authentic and welcoming atmosphere, with typical elements of the island’s tradition. Here you can buy tobacco and enjoy breakfast, aperitifs and quick lunches, spending time socialising in a simple and genuine style. Today, the business is an example of family continuity and integration between tradition and social function, contributing to the economic and cultural life of the island.
