The Floating Piers

Between June 18th and July 3rd, 2016 the artist Christo, after two years of work, made his magnificent work of land art accessible to the public: “The Floating Piers”. The project consisted of a series of floating pontoons anchored to the bottom of the lake and covered in iridescent orange fabric. Visitors, who exceeded one million, were thus able to reach Monte Isola and the islet of San Paolo “walking on water”.
