Net Museum

The production of the net is the cradle of the culture of Monte Isola, a pearl in the heart of Lake Iseo. This past of extraordinary socio-economic and anthropological value is documented in the Net Museum, in the Porto di Siviano locality. The museum is private and is located inside the oldest net factory on Monte Isola, now the headquarters of the Retificio La Rete. Created as a tribute to this tradition, it presents a rich collection of documents, tools such as the needle, (the ocia) the main tool for weaving the net by hand, a permanent photographic exhibition of historical black and white images that narrate what for centuries was the first activity of the island together with fishing.
